Journey Camp 2025

A Home For Me's Journey Camp takes a holistic approach, utilizing Trust-Based Relational

Intervention® (TBRI) to connect, empower, and gently correct children from "hard places." This includes children in foster care, those who have been adopted, or any child facing challenges with trust, connection, or self-regulation.

The camp offers engaging activities such as Movement, Sensory, Life Skills, and Nurture Groups, all designed to build trust and teach self-regulation techniques. Craft time and Recreation are also integral parts of the experience, providing therapeutic, sensory-rich. and fun opportunities that have become camper favorites

To some, it’s just a bed. To the little girl that has been moving from place to place, sharing sleeping space and air mattresses, it’s her very own place of comfort.
I have seen with my own eyes that something as simple as a bed can make a huge difference in the life of a child or family experiencing crisis. Children who have to sleep on the floor, mats, couches or other types of furniture not meant for sleep tend to have a more difficult time succeeding in school due to the lack of sleep they are getting. Sleep is so important for the growth and development of a child. Sleep allows a child to heal when sick. Sleep allows the body to rest and recover from normal daily activities such as running and playing. A simple bed can be a safe space for a child. Unfortunately, most of the clients we serve do not have the means to obtain a bed. A lot of client’s experience poverty and poverty levels are rising every day due to the increase in rent, groceries, power, water, and other necessities. Having more assistance in getting beds to families in need would make my job a little brighter and would have a positive impact on several children’s lives!
I have given beds to several clients. This keeps children from sleeping on couches, floors, and other furniture. One time I gave a bed to a teenager, and he was so grateful. I will forever remember his smile and how excited and thankful he was to carry the mattress and frame inside. He was so proud to show me the bed when I came for a follow up visit. Prior to getting the bed he was sleeping on a small couch and had his legs hanging off.

WE'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU!
